Positive Trends in Indy


Hendricks County residents have seen an increase in pended home sales in September 2011 from the same period last year and a decline in overall inventory by 9% with 1,238 homes on the market compared to last September's 1,387. What seems to be an indecisive market in some areas of the country doesn't seem to be affecting Central Indiana with inventory declining and overall home prices rising 1.8 percent. Another positive for housing are the low interest rates.  The rates are incredibly low hovering around 3.85% and 4% for 30 year fixed rate mortgages.

"Positioning" in the Post-2008 Market

The Real Estate Market Crash of 2008. To many potential sellers this is a pretty intimidating idea that could potentially serve as a major barrier in making the decision to put your house on the market. Many common thoughts and worries include "I shouldn't even think about selling now because it is such a strong buyers' market" or "My house will probably be on the market forever because there is such a great supply out there" or simply, "I have no idea how to stage my house for today's market".
